FFPE Tissues

Specimen collection

All FFPE tissue samples are collected by certified medical pathologists and are fixed in 10% neutral-buffered formalin within 30 minutes of surgery excision. Tissue samples are fixed for 16 hours maximum and embedded then in IHC-grade paraffin. Standard sample size is 1x1x0.5 cm, but can vary depending on the nature of a disease and tissue type. The fixation agent and the embedding media can be customized upon request. All FFPE blocks collections are performed following ProteoGenex's SOP.

Sample collection formats

Biological samples are offered in several formats to meet the needs of biomedical research:

Individual samples

ProteoGenex offers individual FFPE tissue samples, diseased or normal. FFPE blocks from Metastatic Lymph Nodes and Distant Metastases tissue specimens are available.

Matched Pairs

  • Diseased/tumor and normal adjacent tissues from a single donor are available in formalin fixed formats
  • Paired FFPE block and frozen tissue samples from a single donor
  • Diseased/tumor and metastatic tissue samples from the same donor are offered in formalin fixed formats

Four Tissue sets

  • Fresh frozen and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tumor and normal adjacent tissue specimens from one donor

ProteoGenex offers various Biological fluids (serum, plasma, whole blood, PBMC, urine, saliva, etc.) collected from the same patient in addition to tissue samples.
